Cut onto neat line, with reinforced margins. Printed on heavy paper,
good and dark impression.
First state (of 3) of this “carte à figures”- map of Italy produced by
Johannes Janssonius in 1628. The composition, decoration and
geographical content follow with the map by Jodocus Hondius that it
can not be determined which one was issued earlier.
The map is framed on 4 sides by town views and costumed figures
and coats of arms
