a taste of the midatlantic A Taste of the MidAtlantic was held on Sunday, March 8, 2015, in the cheerful atrium of the Community Education Building. We are grateful to the chefs, beverage providers and vendors that made it a success. EXpERtS SAM CALAGIOnE, Founder and President, Dogfish head Craft brewery Sam got the brewing bug back in the early 1990s while waiting tables at a bar in New York City. After a number of homebrew batches, he put his English degree to the test while writing the brewpub business plan. Sam’s innovative style has earned him a reputation as one of America’s most adventurous entrepreneurs and brewers. He has been nominated multiple times for a James Beard Award, most recently in 2015. First at the Moorings Marina Inn before moving to Biras Creek Resort as a bartender and wine steward. He then moved to Little Dix Bay for 4 years, before returning to Biras Creek. Captain is now happily working at the Peter Island Resort and Spa as a Bartender, and Mixologist. His passion is creating cocktails for guests using locally grown ingredients (he can be found stealing herbs from the island chef’s garden!) and using local and Caribbean spirits.
