Built circa 1784, the Kitty Knight House is a historic home on the
eastern shore of Maryland. It’s the perfect setting for British Virgin
Islands Sunday by the Bay, a hands-across-the-water celebration
of the Chesapeake Bay and the British Virgin Islands. This historic
estate stands today due to the heroism of Kitty Knight, who held
her ground and pled with the British Admiral Cockburn to not burn
down the homes of Georgetown during the War of 1812.
