Man killed in collision with sanitation truck
The Town of Newburgh Police Department is
investigating a motor vehicle accident which resulted in
one fatality. The accident occurred Saturday morning
shortly before 11 a.m. on Route 32 (North Plank Rd.) near
the intersection of Paffendorf Dr. in the Cronomer Valley
section of the Town of Newburgh.
Police report that a Sport Utility Vehicle, which was
traveling eastbound on Route 32, struck a garbage truck
from behind. The garbage truck, driven by Robert Miller,
49, of Middletown, had turned right, from Paffendorf Dr.,
onto eastbound Route 32.
The driver of the SUV, later identified as as Wilbur
Grant, 57, of Wallkill, died at St. Luke’s/Cornwall
Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.
Town of Newburgh Police were assisted at the scene by
Cronomer Valley Fire Department, Mobile Life Support
Services & Town of Newburgh EMS.
The accident remains under investigation and anyone
with information is asked to call Town of Newburgh
Police Department Detectives at 564-1100.

with a bench warrant misdemeanor. He was held pending

3rd-degree assault, and 7th-degree criminal possession

Forest L. Fate, 58, of Highland Falls, was charged with
2nd- and 3rd-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two
counts of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled
substance, 5th-degree criminal possession of a controlled
substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, a DWI,
obstruction of a government administrator, resisting
arrest, unlawful fleeing from an officer, reckless driving,
and 1st-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a
motor vehicle. He was held pending his arraignment.
Kendrick D. Robinson, 46, of Newburgh, was charged
with 3rd-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a
motor vehicle. He was released on his own recognizance.
Patrick Whitted, 54, of Newburgh, was charged with
an arrest warrant, 7th-degree criminal possession of a
controlled substance, and a parole violation. He was held
pending his arraignment.

Nicholas K. Carpiro, 22, of Newburgh, was charged
with 4th-degree criminal possession of a controlled
substance. He was held pending his arraignment.
Luis Cabrera, 47, of Newburgh, was charged with
2nd-degree menacing, 4th-degree criminal mischief. He
was held pending his arraignment.

Darius L. Lee, 22, of Newburgh, was charged with
5th-degree criminal possession of marijuana. He was
held pending his arraignment.
Barry D. Davis, 56, of Newburgh, was charged with
3rd-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor
vehicle. He was held pending his arraignment.
Miycara E. Jackson, 23, of Newburgh, was charged with
a bench warrant misdemeanor. She was held pending her
arraignment.
Chiquitee Kenny, 27, of Newburgh, was charged with a
bench warrant misdemeanor. She was held pending her
arraignment.

3rd-degree assault, and 3rd-degree criminal mischief.
