Long-time dairy farmer Jeff Hart of rural
Winsted began a second career as a fuel
delivery driver for Mid-County Energy
Feb. 8, and he’s enjoying the new chal-
lenge.
“This is totally out of my box,” said
Hart, who sold his cows after deciding it
was time for a change.
As a delivery driver, Hart has been
covering Mid-County’s northern territory,
traveling to sites near Waverly, Maple
Grove, New Brighton, and more.
“I’m getting to know the area a little bet-
ter,” Hart said, adding that he’s also learn-
ing how to use Mid-County’s computer
systems, and about the many products
and services Mid-County offers.
“It’s a nice job,” he said. “The Energy
team of Dale, Dusty, Rich, and Steve have
been very helpful and encouraging.”
Driving also allows Hart to stay con-
nected to the agricultural community.
“I’m still outside, and I still get to visit
with people in the industry,” he said.
Hart enjoys being outdoors when he’s
not working too, whether it’s fishing,
snowmobiling, or camping with his fam-
ily.
He and his wife, Terri, have three chil-
dren and seven grandchildren, all living
nearby.
“They keep us in shape,” Hart laughed.
