STAFF SPOTLIGHT Dan Stuewe Josh Way Dan Stuewe recently joined Mid-County as an Applicator. While spray application season is winding down, Dan is ready to dive into the off-season working on mechanics, truck driving, snow removal, and maintenance. Dan enjoys learning about the various crops while working in local fi elds. “I look forward to getting to know all the farmers in the area who we do business with,” explains Dan. Dan grew up in the Cologne area on his family farm. Dan helps on the farm in his spare time. When Dan is not working at Mid-County or on the family farm, he enjoys going to antique tractor shows. “Someday I may want to restore tractors,” Dan explains. And when he does, his fi rst choice would be a John Deere 4020. “I restored a John Deere 3020 while at school in Willmar. I would like to keep moving along with that series.” Josh Way, our newest Applicator, joined Mid-County this September and has been busy learning the details of his new position. “I look forward to learning how to run new equipment and getting to know more of the local farmers,” Josh explains. His experience with custom spraying and precision planter repair and modifi cation lends well to his new position. Josh has worked on large farms in the past and wants to stay involved in the fi eld of agriculture. While Josh grew up in the Cologne area, he just recently moved back with his wife and their Corgi puppy. Since they purchased a ‘fi xer-upper’ home, Josh spends his free time working on house projects. He also enjoys working on his family farm. Josh helps his grandparents with their corn and soybean crops and his parents with raising sheep. From this, Josh keeps connected to family and his farming roots. Chris Goetze Chris Goetze is the new Yard-Man on the Agronomy Staff at Mid-County. Chris has been meeting with customers, prepping equipment, chemicals, and fertilizer in the yard since April 2018. Chris grew up on a crop farm southeast of Cologne in East Union. As a kid, his favorite jobs on the farm were cutting and baling hay and harvesting in the fall. Chris has continued to stay involved with farming by working at equipment dealerships and large crop farms. Chris and his wife have lived in Norwood for almost 30 years where they have raised two children. Chris enjoys fi shing year round. He usually baits for panfi sh, “Sunfi sh and crappies are my favorites, but I like walleye too.” And when he is not fi shing, you may fi nd him at an antique tractor show with his restored Farmall tractors – a 1938 F20 and a 1954 Super H.
