BTEC Diploma in Applied Science (Level 2)
Length of Course 1 year Course Includes * Practical sessions, investigations, lectures and visits. * Biology, physics and chemistry. * Junior science technician skills.
The College provides wellequipped laboratories for science students, enabling them to gain skills and knowledge in a range of scientific techniques. The laboratories contain a good range of analytical instruments, including infra-red and visible/ ultraviolet spectrophotometry, gas chromatography, electrophoresis and general chromatography equipment. Applied Science courses have proved extremely successful and rewarding as students gain the practical skills required in many scientific industries. Students will have the opportunity to study chemistry and biology along with the applied sciences.
BTEC Extended Diploma in Applied Science (Level 3)
Length of Course 2 years – equivalent to 3 GCE A levels Course Includes * Lectures, practicals, investigations and visits. * Chemistry, biology and physics. * Preparation for higher education and/or employment in the science industry.
