Supported Internship (Entry Level 1 - Level 1) This is a fantastic and exciting new employment-based study programme where you will be supported and guided by specialist staff within a work placement. You will gain skills and experience within the work environment to potentially go forward into either paid or voluntary work.
Excellent college links with a variety of local employers and the charity WINCAP in Winsford make this a fantastic choice for you if you want to make the first step on the employment ladder and need specialist support to help you achieve your dream. This course is for young people (16-25 years) and adults (25 years +) with learning difficulties and/ or disabilities looking to enter the world of work, gain greater independence, improve confidence and develop communication and coping skills, and who would require additional support to achieve this important next step in their work and life path. Length of Course 1 year Course Includes * Diploma or Certificate sized accredited qualification. * Action Planning, travelling to and from work, following instructions in the workplace and working in specific vocational areas such as a garage, as a cleaner, working with animals etc. * Work placement at a local Community café working in all aspects of the food and retail industry (and also gaining accredited Industry qualifications such as Food Hygiene). * External work placements at high profile local employers including a local farm and high street supermarkets (subject to individual needs). * Working in small groups with individual support from specialist staff. * Specialist support: job coaches, communicators and specialist state-of-the-art resources.

Career Opportunities
Completion of the Supported Internship programme will lead to direct access to employment opportunities with local employers, charities, and may lead to an opportunity for paid or voluntary long-term work. There will also be access for continued career support through local Government links supplied by course staff.
