Specialist IT suites with state-of-the-art hardware and software.
The College offers a range of courses and qualifications in Computing and ICT up to Foundation Degree level. The dedicated IT suites include a specialist PC/network lab where students can gain hands-on experience of setting up and repairing computer systems and networks. The computer rooms are fully equipped with multimedia/ programming software and access to the Internet. Fully programmable buggies and control systems are used to stimulate learning in the areas of programming, communications and fault diagnosis. The qualifications offered include a variety of Computing and ICT disciplines including software design; website creation and management; systems analysis; hardware installation; system security; networking and IT user skills. Students will learn how to develop the skills needed to work in the IT industry.
BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (Level 3)
Length of Course 2 years – equivalent to 3 GCE A Levels Course Includes * Software development and computer programming, databases and spreadsheets, digital graphics and web design. * Software and hardware configuration and support, networking and system security.
BTEC Diploma in IT (Level 2)
Length of Course 1 year Course Includes * Web development, spreadsheets and databases. * Software installation and hardware su pport and networking. * Requirements of users and businesses.
