Games and Digital Media and Games Design UCAS Code 7P2I GAMES AND DIGITAL MEDIA Attendance 2 years full time (approx. 2 days per week) 30 Entry Requirements * BTEC Extended Diploma in Art and Design or Media at Merit grade or above. * Access to HE course * GCE A Level profile, which demonstrates a strong performance in media or art and design. * We will also encourage and consider applicants who possess a high level of experience in media/design but may not have formal qualifications. * You will also need to present a strong portfolio of work. Content Students will complete a variety of projects working through a range of disciplines in the fields of Digital Media and Computer Games Design. The course is structured to develop essential skills across key areas such as 3D Modelling, Animation Techniques, Using 2D and 3D Time-based Applications, Interactive Media Design, Web Design and specialist Drawing Techniques and Processes. The course is designed so as that students develop specialist technical skills in combination with strong design fundamentals enabling them to progress into a number of career pathways. There will be a strong focus on the principles of design through the delivery of mandatory study units including Visual Communication, Ideas Generation and Development, Contextual and Cultural Referencing and Professional Practice. Prospects Assessment A range of assessment and delivery methods will be used on the course, including presentations, workshops, academic study and workbased projects. Students may continue their studies at national Universities. There would also be the opportunity to interview for prestigious Design and Technology Schools.
