On October 14, 1956 in Brighton, IN he married Patricia “Pat” M. Lewis; Mrs. Lambright preceded him in death on November 29, 2015. Mr. Lambright served in the United States Navy from 1951 until his discharge in 1955. After returning from the Navy in 1955, he began his career as an auctioneer after graduating from Repperts School of Auctioneering in Decatur, IN. It was at this time that he formed a partnership with his father-in-law and Lewis and Lambright Auction and Real Estate firm began. In 1972, he and his wife formed the corporation of Lewis and Lambright, Inc. Auctioneers and Realtors and held the designations of GRI, CAI, CREA, SCAP, AARE, AND M-CES. Every Wednesday, for the past 64 years, Harvey had worked at the Shipshewana Antique Auctions. Surviving are his three daughters and two sons-in-law, Debra Lambright and her fiancé, Meredith Cameron of LaGrange, IN, Denise and Carl Scott of LaGrange, IN and Dodie and J.R. Hart of Shipshewana, IN; a step-grandson and his wife, Brodee and Sarah Hart of Elkhart, IN; step-great-grandson, Noah Lee Hart; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Wilma and Raymond Yoder of Millersburg, IN, Amanda Eash of Bloomfield, IA, and Katie and Joe Shinn of Shipshewana, IN; and a brother, Freeman Lambright of Dandridge, TN. Along with his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons, Corey Whitcomb and Chase Scott; a sister, Mary Miller; and a brother, Enos Lambright. One reason why birds and horses are not unhappy is because they are not trying to impress other birds and horses. ~ Dale Carnegie HO A member of several organizations, he served as president of the Indiana Auctioneers Association in 1970, the National Auctioneers Association in 1979, and the Northeastern Indiana Board of Realtors in 1972. He was on the Indiana Auctioneer Commission for 16 years serving as the Chairman for 3 of those years, honored in 1970 by the Northeastern Indiana Board of Realtors as the Realtor of the Year, inducted in 1982 into the Indiana Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame and in 1984 into the National Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame. Amongst his other accomplishments, he was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash in May 1975 and was the LaGrange County Republican Chairman for over twenty years. Harvey was a longtime member of Brighton Chapel in rural Howe, IN, the LaGrange American Legion Post #215, and a former member of the Knights of Pythias. Memory Mr. Lambright was born on September 23, 1931 in LaGrange County, IN to Charles William and Elizabeth (Eash) Lambright. HARVEY C.
