Building brighter possibilities

iscal years 2013 and 2014
brought many challenges
and opportunities for our
community. Year after year
after experiencing cuts to
mental health and IDD
funding and operating at
our
maximum
capacity,
our community, providers,
advocates, law enforcement
officials, family members and
loved ones of the people who
have these debilitating mental
disorders were able to breathe a
sigh of relief thanks to the new
funding aimed at improving
the system designed to give
them a chance at a better life.
At MHMRA of Harris County,
we are very pleased with
everything we have been able
to accomplish in this fairly
short amount of time. The
years-long waiting list for
adult mental health services
is no longer existent, clients
that were not receiving the
appropriate level of care based
on the severity of their clinical
condition now have access
to it,
