at Historic Rob Roy and this is to be a picnic day where we hope the scheduling and catering will encourage people to spend a little longer there and enjoy the facility. Ian Prior has been honing his run planning skills with the recent MGA Register’s Autumn Tour and will put these to good use in his management of the Observation Run. The non-competitive Kimber Run is in the care of Graeme and Jennie Jackson whose talents, developed over the planning of many Pre War MG rally events, will ensure that this is a memorable day’s outing. Maree Rowley is overseeing the Social calendar and the catering and has this well in hand. The Presentation Dinner is to be held at the Yarra Valley Racing Centre where we will have a display of cars floodlit under the panorama windows looking East towards the Dandenongs. All event managers are aware of the wish for as many of our members as possible to be able to enter and compete and are planning their activities to ensure that there is sufficient backup for this to be achieved. We do not want members to feel that if they would like to help then they will not be able to compete. We are also committed to looking after the many members who will be acting as officials and marshals etc, and will be running a thank you function for all of them sometime following the meeting. Page 16 M.G. Car Club Victoria JUNE 2014 That’s the nuts and bolts. Behind the scenes we have Wayne Hunter on Registration, Peter Shattock counting the beans, Lyn Martin ensuring we are all appropriately attired, Louise Grills as Secretary looking after the ‘bumph’, and Graeme and Vera Ridgway helping our visitors get roofs over their heads. Stewart Baker will be wrangling sponsorship from all and sundry and Don Woods is doing the regulations to ensure all is above board. No need to mention I am sure, but just in case you had not guessed, Mike and Kay Herlihy will by handling the IT with Ric Collett on scoring and timing, and Paul Slawinski will look after Officials and audio visual. Ian Mckenzie will be chief shutterbug, David Parrott boss scrutineer, Josie Eeles will handle the poster and other design and Bob Somerville will produce the program. Linda Hayhow as OHS will try to keep us all safe. And there are many more. That is a very brief summary of where we are at and where we are going. There is an organization chart on our website which fleshes the team out in detail. Many have been called and many more will be needed progressively as Easter 2015 draws nearer. We hope that you will all be involved one way or another, either competing, helping or both. Robin Page Director, 2015 National Meeting Page 17
