MG Car Club of South Australia Motorsport Mutterings – April 2019 Congratulations to our MGCC members who collected trophies for the 2018 MSCA Super Sprint series at the picnic in February. See the separate article on the previous pages, but John Davies won Sprint Champion with Jason Ed- wards runner up and Dick Manning won the Sprint Driver of the year. They each also won their respective classes. Well done guys and good luck for 2019. Sunday 7 April – Multi Club Hillclimb Round 1, Collingrove The first multi club Hillclimb will be run at Collingrove on 7 April. Get your en- tries in early on CAMS event entry sys- tem as this event will fill quickly. Sunday 5 May - Peter Hall Memorial Six Hour Regularity Over recent years Team Emgee has performed well and made it up to fourth position but it would be great to get onto the podium. This event is about team- work with drivers required to be reliable and consistent but also the support team providing information and encour- agement plays an important role. The day is then finished off with a hot dinner and presentations at the track prior to going home. If you would like to be in- volved in either role please contact Bev, Steve or me. Sunday 26 May – CAMS 2019 SA Mo- torkhana Championship Round 2 Round 2 of the SA Motorkhana Champi- onship will be run by Nissan Datsun Car Club most likely at Mallala. Watch face- book for entry details but expect the supp regs to largely the same as for the MGCC event on 24 March.. Queen’s Birthday Weekend 8 & 9 June – MG Club Challenge The Challenge is scheduled for Victoria on the Queen’s Birthday weekend in June this year. Initial information sug- 28 gests this will be a great weekend with events centred around one site so mini- mal travel over the weekend and lots of fun. Keep watching the website for infor- mation and mark it in your diary now. Sunday 16 June – Super Sprint Round 2 – The Bend Round 2 of the MSCA Super Sprint se- ries will be held on The Bend West Cir- cuit on 16 June and preparations are well under way in the MSCA. Given the size and configuration of the track there will be requirement for far more officials than we use at Mallala so all clubs are rostered on for the day to provide flag- gies. You will be well fed and have a front row seat for the action so please put it in your diary and consider coming out to help. Let Bev or Steve know of your availability. This is my last mutterings, in print any- way. Thank you to all the competitors, officials and followers who have sup- ported and encouraged me for the past eight years on the committee. I will still be involved in the MSCA and hope to get back in the Honda a bit more often. Murray Stephenson
