MG Car Club of South Australia
Sunday 14 October – MSCA Super
Sprint Round 5, Mallala
This is the final round of the MSCA Su-
per Sprint Series so your last chance to
score points towards the end of year
trophies.
Competitor entries are taken via the
CAMS event entry system accessed
through the CAMS members portal.
Don’t forget to include your Dorian num-
ber on the car description in meecams
and nominate your previous best lap
time to enable grids to be set up.
For those who don’t have a Dorian re-
member the Club has four which can be
hired for $20 a day.

Upcoming Events for MG Motorsport
A
fter a few very busy months of mo-
torsport September looks very
quiet. Time to regroup and get ready for
the next onslaught.
This is the time of year when all clubs
begin to compile the motorsport calen-
dar for the next year and the first full
year availability of The Bend adds a
new dynamic which will change things.
It makes available a second, and even-
tually a third, circuit for sprints so dates
may be easier to select but it will come
at increased cost. The MSCA delegates
have been working recently to develop
the 2019 calendar with a clear call from
members for spreading out the calendar
better and some action at The Bend.
Whatever is decided by MSCA then has
to fit in with the track owners and the
CAMS calendar, i.e. no significant
clashes.
Besides the significant difference in cost
for The Bend, i.e. a super sprint for an
MSCA member will go from $95 at Mal-
lala to around $250 - $300 each at The
Bend, there is a requirement for many
more officials and, given that we strug-
gle to find ten flaggies for Mallala, find-
ing twenty two to thirty for The Bend will
be a push. One suggestion, as in some
rallies, is that the drivers will have to
find a flaggy for their entry to be ac-
cepted.
I will keep you informed of develop-
ments but if you have any thoughts or
suggestions please let me know.
Friday 12 October to Sunday 14 Octo-
ber SA Hillclimb Championship,
Collingrove
Friday is generally a practice day and
competition starts with the first run on
Saturday morning. There are generally
several interstate competitors at the SA
Champs so the competition can be
fierce and you can see some cars which
are not generally seen in SA. Come and
have a look and say g’day to the MGCC
members competing.
Entries via CAMS event entry system.
Wednesday 17 October – Ferrari Club
Australia National Meeting, The Bend
FCA has asked MGCCSA to assist with
flaggies for their Nat Meet sprint at The
Bend and so far the response from our
members has been great. It should be
an interesting day watching some su-
perb cars being used in anger, how they
should be! The sounds and sights
should be great. Note it is a Wednesday
but if you haven’t signed up and would
like to please contact me or Ian Crouch,
