The Goodwood “Survival”
meeting
H
6 September 2018
eld just off Goodwood Road at
Robert and Beverly Horn’s at Mills
Street Clarence Park, it was a great
night of “arrive and survive” especially as
several of our prominent members were
absent in the UK at the Goodwood Re-
vival held annually, we simply held our
own Goodwood Revival with 19 Register
vehicles in attendance, supplemented of
course by Hornys 4 T Types in the ga-
rage.
The garage was immaculate again this
year and Robert certainly got a move on
and presented it in a fit and proper con-
dition for our pleasure, and it was for the
47 that signed in, thanks Robert.
Thankyou. I can tell you that it was a
late request that I made to Robert and
Bev Horn the week before when my
“other plans” fell over, to have the regis-
ter again this year at their home . ( more
importantly the T Type stable) Thank
you so much for your great hospitality.
It is always a good sign of a successful
meeting when you leave at 11.0pm after
chewing the fat around the heater with
Robert and a few stragglers held to-
gether by Bob Schapel.
Apologies. Those swanning about the
UK include messers I Buckley, T Martin,
A Pearson, R Finch & J Whiting . some
dressed for the occasion in 1950’s pe-
riod attire I am reliably told.
At home they include, C Kinney, G Brice,
M Greenwood, T Wright, I Purdey (KI), D
McNaughton, M Woodhouse, B Forth, L
Ritcher, P Auld, & Geraldine Hough
(recovering)
Serena Williams (dummy spit), C Ramos
(deremits) & N Osaka ( unnoticed)

General Business. There was quite a
lot of discussion as usual however I will
try to be brief and include all especially
those with show and tell items and items
of considerable interest.
Artfur Rummager proudly displayed his
Shell Trophy awarded to him for his 1934
ND MG by the Sporting Car Club of SA,
a nice “show & tell “ I would not say
richly deserved but good anyway.
Bob Schapel was fishing for some M
Types history, not sure why but he did
circulate a list for those wanting to pur-
chase TC wiper blades @ $14 AUD per
blade. Hope that he has got it right, I
saw them advertised on the web at $14
GBP !
Linton and Jenny Schiller, fresh from
their outstanding photographic display
on the cover of the August magazine
with the TF, attended their first register
meeting. They are prepared to pay for
more magazines as they only have one
to their name, I did suggest that it will be
a long time before it comes around
again , none of get a second go it
seems, the editor is pretty astute.
Doug Clarke apparently has not ser-
viced the car yet, he is wanting to
change the oil in his dad’s TD and screw
