Not a bad idea for a Christmas present.
I will place a paper copy of these details
on the Club noticeboard.
MEETING HELD AT THE CLUB-
ROOMS ON 20 SEPTEMBER 2018
S
eventeen members and five MGA’s
attended the meeting along with an
MGB and various modern vehicles.
Apologies were received from Allan
Hawkes, Mike Greenwood and De
Denny.
I had the Register Books at the club-
rooms (they have been home for about
three or four months, trying to tidy them
up) and most members checked that
their car was in the right spot as well as
up to date details. Thank you for that.
Because I have spent such a lot of time
on this, I advised that I would recom-
mend to the Committee of the Car Club
that in future the records of MGA’s and
Magnettes be maintained in the elec-
tronic Gallery on the Club website.
There was some discussion, however,
that will be my recommendation. The
books as they currently exist will be
stored in the cabinet in the main club-
rooms.
Our last outing was the Poker Run or-
ganized by the Micklems. By the time
you read this, it will have been run and
the 26 members who attended had a
great day, followed by a tasty sausage
sizzle at Valhalla. We all learned a little
bit about the history of Adelaide via our
five stops at local cemetaries, the most
memorable for me being the headstone
of Mr Langley who came out on the
Buffalo.
Our Annual Dinner is on Sunday 2 nd
December 2018. I have booked the
Belair Hotel 6.30 for a 7pm start. A
three course menu, with two choices
per course, will cost $65 per head, pay-
able in advance please. Our vegetarian
and gluten free members will be ca-
tered for, just let me know by 15 th No-
vember at the Register Meeting to be
held at Bob and Shelley Bazzica’s West
Beach home. Because it is close to the
city, I think we can make our own way
to the venue. This event is not limited
to MGA/Magnette members, all are wel-
come, just let me know how many
members to expect and dietary require-
ments.
Further to the keeping of records etc. I
advised the members present that I
would not continue in my role as Secre-
tary/Co-ordinator of the MGA/Magnette
Register after January 2019. The meet-
ing for January would be held at the
clubrooms to allow as many people as
possible to attend and elect a new co-
ordinator. I have taken this step after a
great deal of thought. I find myself be-
coming involved in other areas of the
car club and feel that the time is right for
some new ideas from a new co-
ordinator.
You will see from the photos that it is
possible to get a “hoodie” made and
