credit to Bob’s ability in restoring
Mg’s, however I feel a greater task
is before him with the biscuit, er
Arnolt TD.
Show & tell : Would you believe
that Peter Cundy produced an item
of interest to amuse us all, after all
it was a big night for the Prewar
fraternity or “overhead cammers”. It
was a large blue board which is a
mould for casting N type crank-
shafts called a match plate. Nick
Proferes was really quite expert on this
and gave us a lesson on the technical
application of the device, previously
owned by Peter Brady (MGK3) fame.
Thanks Peter, far more interesting than
Goldy’s enema bottle from Murray
Bridge.
Old hands: Wonderful to see the great
Don Offler (without TF) with us, looking
well and by all accounts feeling ok, go-
ing off to Goodwood Revival in UK this
year with others from the club. Don pro-
duced some really good coloured draw-
ings of Prewar MG’s and other cars for
register members, a lovely gesture Don,
thanks so much.
Fund raising: Bob Bazzica announced
that he will sell the RV8 MG obviously to
fund the restoration of the “cracker” ATD
which needs a lot of help. One owner
car only driven by Shelly to the post of-
“barn find” was on show, the TD Arnolt ,
a magnificent rusted out vehicle which I
could describe to you.
The Cracker: Overheard in the throng
and spoken by someone who should
know better, describing the TD as the
Arnott , yes the cracker biscuit of all
things. It certainly will be a cracker of a
job when finished. The Arnolt MG was a
result of American, Italian & English col-
laboration and is a special Bertone body
on a MGTD chassis 1250 cc & 1500cc
engines.
I will not go into detail, Google it up to
see some great articles, but I will say
that observing Bob’s car with one wire
wheel , I learnt that the wheels were op-
tioned up with Borrani wire wheels in
1953. Soon to be “Bazzica” wheels I am
sure.
The KN MG was a magnificent site,
