- although Anna and Paul have given
as much help as they can), for members
who aren’t going to read it anyway.
This is but one example.
Club members gain most from meeting
and talking to other club members (with
MG’s as the common ground), but obvi-
ously the club members don’t want to
do this.
We are about to embark on an ambi-
tious toilet block for the Chief St Club-
rooms.
Now we have to ask - why? - as it ap-
pears there is no necessity or require-
ment, as few use the Clubrooms facili-
ties. The Clubrooms themselves - with
the little use they get, would be better
sold, and so the financial drain on the
club be removed.
The Register is the only bright side of
the Club, but hardly sufficient to per-
petuate a decaying institution.
It’s sad, that after nearly 20 years, we
have reached the end of the road, but
one must accept change and make
room for these changes.
The MG Car Club - in this State -is old
hat. If it is to be saved and revitalised,
the moves have to come from the mem-
bers, not just a few old faithfuls’.
BASICALLY, it boils down to this .....
Has the MG CAR CLUB of SA outlived
it’s usefulness.
Has a Club of this nature anything to
offer as benefit to its Club members?
