Breakfast Run to Younghusband

O
nce again it was time for our an-
nual springtime run to Younghus-
band given the kind invite from Ros &
Alan Foweraker to visit their holiday
home alongside the Murray. They had
also extended the invite, to all who
could stay, for a sausage sizzle for
which the ladies all chipped in with sal-
ads and desserts.
Always a popular destination, this year
was no different and numbers would
have been even greater but for the
clash with a club event at Malala.
Amongst the attendees were long time
club members Chris and Annette
Kinney on, surprisingly, their first and
hopefully not their last, breakfast run.
Chris and Annette had only the past
week bought David Holmes red BGT
and so were keen to give it a run. It was
also a first-time breakfast run for other
long time club members David and
Jenny McNaughton, so again we trust
that they enjoyed the day and we look
forward to seeing them on many future
runs.
It was a perfect spring day to take the
cars for a drive, and Lyla Gilles made it
the first drive of any distance for her
beautifully restored red 1956 MGA,
coming from her home in Milang. Lyla
has in fact owned the car since 1968!

ciated by a large black snake seen
basking on the jetty!
