MG Car Club of South Australia MSCA Super Sprint , Sunday 15 July Up Coming events A cold and windy day at Mallala was what greeted 77 competitors and friends on Sunday, but as they say, “when the going gets tough the tough get going”. There were six MG competitors, John Davies, Jason Edwards, Craig Reudi- ger, Nick Micklem, Dick manning and Alf Smith first time seen on the track in an MGF. Our Club was rostered to provide offi- cials and 7 members attended, Peter Coulson, Tony Freckelton and myself were freezing in flag point 5 at the end of the back straight , I was not sure where the other members were. Murray Stephenson kept warm in the timing tower as assistant Clerk of Course, and tells me there were a num- ber (7) of other club members present . It was on the 26 th but that clashes with the V8 Taxi Cabs at The Bend so the sprint was brought forward a week. This round includes a Come & Try sec- tion for those who haven’t tried sprinting before or are looking to polish their skills. In the C&T group you will receive expert classroom tuition and supervised on track sessions to learn what it’s all about and to have some fun. Alterna- tively, consider giving the opportunity to a family member or friend. Participants do not need to belong to a car club and they purchase a competition licence for the day. It’s great fun and you will learn something. Be careful, motorsport is addictive! November 28 – 30 – Adelaide Rally Following the success of our stages at Mallala in the 2017 Adelaide Rally, the MG Car Club has been asked to help out with the Adelaide Rally again in 2018 running a number of stages at The Bend. In order to record members attendance at the Sprint meetings , Murray will have a book at where the coffee is in the garage for all members to sign in. This will be to facilitate accurate records for the Club Member of the Year. Laurie Houghton 28 More detail will come to hand over the next few months but, if you’re interested, mark Wednesday 28 November in your diary as a day to come and help out while watching some top action and great cars.
