he 2017 calendar is under way with the first motorkhana and the MSCA picnic done . Keep an eye on the calendar on the website but the next upcoming events are detailed below .
MSCA Super Sprint Round 1 – Sunday 12 March MGCC provides flaggies for round 1 so your assistance is sought with this event . Please contact Peter Coulson or me if you can help .
Round 1 in 2017 is also the first time a Come & Try Super Sprint will be run in SA . New sprinters will receive a number of classroom sessions and untimed on track tuition in their own car with one-on-one tutors to help develop driving skills and sprinting technique . If you haven ’ t tried sprinting before and / or are thinking about trying it at the Nat Meet for the first time this is a great opportunity to see what it is all about . Consider it for yourself or a friend as participants do not need to be a member of a car club or have a CAMS licence . Check the MSCA or MGCC websites or call Peter or Murray .
Motorkhana Round 2 – Sunday 9 April Round 2 motorkhana will be run at Mallala on 9 July . All the SA motorkhana series events include Come & Try so if you haven ’ t tried it yet , come along and see how much fun it is .
There is still time to practise at this event for the Nat Meet motorkhana so come and have a go or just cheer on your fellow club members .
Friday 14 April to Monday 17 April – MG National Meeting in Adelaide . This year ’ s National Meeting includes a Super Sprint at Mallala and a motorkhana in Adelaide . These events will require lots of helpers and entrants and are well covered on the website . If you are not entering please seriously consider offering your assistance to Peter Coulson to help at these events and make the Nat Meet a success .
Sunday 7 May – Peter Hall Memorial Six Hour . The Six Hour is an excellent team event which is run at Mallala for up to 25 teams of drivers attempting to amass the most laps while maintaining a steady pace . It ’ s a lot of fun for drivers and crew and we finish up with the presentation dinner after the event . Team Emgee has had some success in the past and hope to do well again . We require up to six drivers as well as helpers for timing and various other duties to make the team run smoothly . If you are interested please contact Murray or Peter . It seems a long way off but it will be on us sooner than you think .
Note to Sprinters , Don ’ t forget to join the MSCA for 2017 , copy the membership form from their website , have our Secretary confirm you are financial and remit $ 25 payment .......... Ed
