Motorsport Mutterings
From .. Murray Stephenson Half way through the year and we have a busy time in July and August . MGCC members recently competed in the CAMS Club Challenge at Collingrove and the MG Car Clubs Interstate Challenge in Melbourne . See articles elsewhere in this magazine . Keep watching the calendar on the website but the next upcoming events are detailed below .
Sunday 9 July – Multi Club Hillclimb , Round 3 , Collingrove Round three of the Sporting Car Club ’ s Multi Club series will be held at Collingrove on July 9 th . Entries are to be submitted via the CAMS event entry system which is accessed through the CAMS member portal . Entries close approx one week before the event so keep an eye on the SCCSA website .
Sunday 16 July – MSCA Super Sprint Round 3 , Mallala Round of the MSCA Super Sprint series will be held at Mallala on July 16 th entries will be taken on CAMS event entry system accessed via the CAMS Members Portal . Earlier rounds this year have been well subscribed so be sure to get in early for these events . If you are not competing come out and cheer on our members . MGCC will be based around shed 47 as usual .
Sunday 6 August Motorkhana Round 4 Round 4of the SA motorkhana series will be held at Mallala on Sunday 6 August and , although you can enter on the day , putting in an early entry helps the organizers . This round will again include Come & Try so you can have a go for the first time .
Sunday 13 August – Multi Club Hillclimb , Round 4 , Collingrove Round four of the Sporting Car Club ’ s Multi Club series will be held at Collingrove on August 13 th with entries to be submitted via the CAMS event entry system which is accessed through the CAMS member portal . Entries close approx one week before the event so keep an eye on the SCCSA website . This will be good practice for the SA Champs in September .
Hillclimb Championships The South Australian Hillclimb Championships will be held on the weekend of September 9 & 10 and generally preceded by a practice day on the Friday ( 8 / 9 / 17 ). The SCCSA has called for expressions of interest to compete and entries will open soon . Entries will be via the CAMS event entry system . Also Collingrove will host the Australian Hillclimb Championship this year on the weekend of October 28 & 29 with practice on the Thursday and Friday before ( 26 & 27October ).
