MG Car Club of South Australia O CAMS Club Challenge - 2017 so competition was great and our cars ran beautifully. Dick, with his son Jamie and friends put on a BBQ breakfast and lunch which added to the club event at- mosphere. Unfortunately our cars all compete in very fast classes so achieving high scores was unlikely from the start of the day but everybody had fun. The even- tual winners were the Circuit Excel team who managed to break their class re- cord on the day and took home to their club the winner’s cheque for $2,500. Thanks to the supporters who came out to cheer including Sandra Cardnell, Steve Bowra and Murray Stephenson. It was great to see a full team of MGs! n Saturday 27 May the MGCC fielded a team in the CAMS Club Challenge Australia. This event began in SA but has spread across the country. Clubs nominate a team to compete and each driver’s time is compared to the record for the class in which they are entered (record/actual) producing a percentage score for each driver and hence for the team. If the driver breaks the record they score greater than 100%. Our team was all MGs with Dick Man- ning (MGF), Alan Cardnell (MGB), Lau- rie Houghton (MGB V8), Tim Edmonds (MGB GTV8) and Rob Hall (MG ZS180) putting up a great show. John Davies was also competing but in a team of Toyota 86s. The day was fine and sometimes warm No individual times were available at this point....Ed 26
