participants driving and being passengers in 110 different MGs . The earliest was a lovely grey 1938 VA Drophead Tickford right through to a 2005 ZT Saloon . After the initial rush to get drinks there was plenty of time to chat and catch up with other MG friends from mainly NSW MG Car Clubs but there were a number of Victorian MG Club members , several from Canberra plus one from Queensland and ourselves from SA . The largest number of MGs were MGBs and then came our group of 15 Magnettes , not a bad effort for the 4 door brigade ! The finger food just kept coming out for us and there was lots left over when we finally decided to depart . The Wagga MG Club members organising the event did a great job in deciding to revisit this venue and certainly made sure that we has sufficient sustenance . The rain did not stopped all evening and continued all night and it was not just drizzle it was heavy , heavy downpouring rain ! Our motel was empty of MGs by 10.00am ! All had driven down to the end of the main
28 street , Tarcutta Street , to the Wagga Beach Car Park beside the M u r r u m b i d g e e River . When we arrived the car park was filled with all the MGs getting their registration packs but also the car park was partly under water with huge puddles making access quiet difficult . This was further made chaotic by a lot of local Wagga people & their kids who had come down to see the flooding Murrumbidgee ; given all the rain we had during the night . After we had got our goody bag seeing it was so wet we went back to the motel and waited until the off for the fun run . I believe that having a saloon was a decided advantage this year , our windscreen wipers ( one speed only ) work very efficiently ! But there was a reassembly of all the MGs for the afternoon fun run – we knew that we were going to be spoilt – lots of sand-
