Happy Mother's Day!
a little spring fling. It’s okay. Get a guiltfree pampering everyone so deserves. No
matter what style you prefer, always feel
fabulous! Don’t hesitate… dare to shine!
Whether you’re in your 30’s or 50’s, feel
good about any style you want. However,
don’t be silly dressing up like a 15 year
old. Find that balance. Not so young and
not so old. Beware of falling into becoming
the latest fashion victim. Often wondered
about designers’ unflattering weird style...
mumbling “who would wear that?” under
my breath.
Classic finds will be the best for an
overall clean but sophisticated look. I
normally mix n match the old favorite coats
and tops with the new. The basics can be
more flexible if the lines are clean so adding
to it can go many different ways. Have fun
experimenting on what works. Sometimes
updates on cool accessories, silk scarves,
purses or totes and funky shoes makes the
entire get up charming and sharp, most of
all, affordable.
Add lighter highlights to make the face
look softer and maybe use a little bit of
bangs for a more fun younger look. But
most importantly, spring clean your face.
Exfoliate or book an appointment for a
micro-dermabrasion.
For busy mothers, Google some
latest organic skin care products online
and get more discounts. Check out skin
care make-up. There are a few available
online and quite a few drugstores carry
some pretty amazing brands. Sometimes
I spend an hour just trying different shades
and most of all deciphering labels making
sure that no harmful ingredients are mixed
to the good stuff. Sometimes adding
colourful tops or skirt to your fave old
boring wardrobe gives an instant flare of
matching shades that enhances the fashion
spirit.
In my opinion, a majority of Filipino
women tend to shy away from figure
hugging dresses and tops. No worries,
I’m one of them too guilty of over selfconsciousness -- but fighting off the “too
old for this kind of thing”. If wearing the
same thing over and over again makes you
feel good about yourself then go for it! Why
fix it if isn’t broken? However, don’t make
it a habit… be bold and try new things.
Change is sometimes good. A black lace
coat with fringes for an evening wear can
be a lot of fun.
Bottom line? Wear and look whatever
you think will make you happy since
sometimes real style means breaking all
the rules.
A new shade of lip color and a little
blush goes a long way. Still, that radiant
mommy smile is the best wear at all times!
name can be a milestone. The child then
grows up and responds to this name. A girl,
however, will marry and by normal tradition,
adopt the surname of her husband so then
her name changes for the first time. Then
a child comes into her life and every name
she has ever had will place second to that
one, most beautiful name in the world
–- mother.
The most meaningful and important
name I’ve ever been called was mom.
Nothing else will replace that because
it was given to me by my children
and it symbolizes privilege, blessing,
responsibility, happiness, sacrifice,
selflessness, sleepless nights, excitement.
The list goes on, but most of all, the name
‘mom’ symbolizes love without boundaries
or conditions. Love that is so overflowing
your own personal happiness depends on
how happy your siblings or loved ones are.
The day I first became a mother, I
spontaneously became one with my child
and I will forever be one with my children
who were borne out of love between my
husband and me. I always tell my family
that I believe that Mother’s Day is not just
for mothers because Mother’s Day will not
exist without our children. This day reminds
us of our continuous responsibility to make
sure that we provide our children with a
nurturing home and a safe and loving place
to grow. It reminds me that my children
are the reason why I strive for excellence
and why they never take second priority.
They are both my dream and the process
towards achieving my dream.
I always dedicate Mother’s Day to my
children as much as I dedicate it to my
loving mother who has shown me that love
is the most selfless gift of all.
I know that our children always
remember us on Mother’s Day and that is
the most beautiful thing! However, I enjoin
all mothers to also remember that on this
day, we give thanks to God, our Creator, for
blessing us with our children.
We give thanks to our children for
everything that they are b V6W6RF
