channels into the music. But that is evolving! You have to think about evolving! For example, I don't know if it's a good analogy, you grow up and see your friend from years ago, and they are still the same way!

Mike: Yeah

Ted: It's cool to be a kid at heart, dont forget that. But if you are 35 living like your 16, there is no evolving right there. so that's how it is with music, you have your foundation! We still want to be a thrash band, but once you have the foundation, you need to start sprinkling stuff on it. So I think we are evolving everyday.

Mike: For the guitar player sitting at home, that may be a fan of yours and can see the things that you have achieved in your career, what are some words of advice that you could give?

Ted: Wow! Thats a good one. There are so many answers to that! Well one, play with people that you want to play with that have the same goals as you musically. Hone your craft. Do your research, ask other bands how it is on the road. Before I ever went out on the road I went out as a guitar tech for other bands,so I could see what it's like on the road. some people go "Dude, I want to be on the road, I want to tour" But they lose sight about playing music, they get involved in the lifestyle and start partying or they get burnt out on it, and they don't like being away from home. Some people don't realize how much you have to be away from home to do this. And when they do it they realize they don't like being away from home. First and foremost, jam with people that you want to jam with and write the best you can. Sorry for the long answers!

Mike: We love long answers, don't worry about it!

Ted: You can edit! (Laughs)

Mike: How have you seen thrash change over the years?

Ted: Thrash has changed, for the better? That depends on the listener. Music is a preference. The younger thrash bands today like the Havoks, the Bound By Bloods, the Warbringers and all these other bands I think what they are doing is good. They are keeping heavy music alive. They are keeping that genre alive! They have the right idea. When thrash was born, it was from the love of Motorhead, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and taking that with your personality and creating thrash. The younger thrash bands are just taking thrash and making it today's thrash. I do think they are doing a good job at it.

Mike: Your new album was out in 2013.

Ted: Good man! (Laughs)

Mike: We have to ask, when is the next one going to hit?

Ted: We started writing for the new record. We are a few songs in so far. We are doing this tour with Cavalera Conspiracy and during this tour we are going to be writing. Rob has Pro Tools and he is always writing. After this tour, we do one show in Mexico with Judas Priest, then we come back and we have two months off before we go to Europe. So during those two months we will finish off the writing. We go to Europe in July and August for the summer festivals and some headlining runs, then we come back in the middle of August and we are going to take a couple weeks off. We will spend September doing pre production and we will enter the studio in the beginning of October and record the album. We are expecting to release the record in March or April of 2016. We have our whole plan, we have it all scheduled.

Mike: Finally, what would you like to say to Death Angel fans all around the world?

Ted: Oh man, Thank you for everything! The support for the band has been amazing! Without the fans, bands would not be able to do what they do! we are so stoked and blessed to have that support, and we don't take that for granted at all! So thank you EVERYONE!
