Jackie: It is, but for the everyday listener I have gotten compared to my entire career with every single female vocalist that's in a band and I don't understand it. Half of these people, I couldn't hit what they hit and for most of them, I dont have anywhere near that type of girl voice. (Laughs) People crack me up...I'm like really? I didn't realize I sounded like her, but thanks? I guess maybe? (Laughs)

Mike: So tell me a little about the band name? Is there a meaning or story behind Unsaid Fate?

Jackie: There is, the band was called "Jackie". I always wanted a cool name for a band, not me as a solo artist. So when the time came I was like "Yep, we are changing it right now!". For about a year to a year and a half the guys and I sat down and just wrote down names. Every time we thought of something we would text it in a group, "Hey what do you think of this?" We had decided we were not going to pick a name unless three out of four like it. So...for about a year and a half we went back and forth, back and forth. Then in November of 2011, my grandfather went into the hospital. He was a huge influence in my life and just such a hero to me. He grew so sick. It was that time and they called the family in and we all sat there with him. Everybody eventually left. For two days straight, I sat there holding his hand and for some reason this name just popped into my head when I was having all these crazy weird thoughts. Just thoughts about him and the band and all these things that have happened because of my grandfather and then my dad..it just came down the line and Unsaid Fate just popped into my head. I sent it to the guys. One by one everyone responded "Wow, that's awesome!" So everyone agreed upon it and we had a name for the band. For me, Unsaid Fate has to do with , that for so many years we had people telling us what we could do, what we couldn't do. They would tell us what genre we should play, like "Look at her face, oh you should be a pop artist!" or "She should get into country!" During all this time we stayed positive about every-thing, and everything kept failing. Finally, for once in our lives, we were creating our own destiny, we are creating our own fate! Our fate is unsaid! So that's where Unsaid Fate came from.

Mike: That's a fantastic story behind the name of your band. I have always felt that a band should own its name, there should be something behind it, something that band memebers can stand behind.

Jackie: Well there's definitely meaning behind this one, it was literally the day my grandfather passed away holding my hand. My brother and I, our music, started because of my grandfather.

Mike: Where do you find your influences for your music? Do they come from just your experiences, or do you take into account other people's experiences and what they may be going through?

Jackie: It's definitely a collection of both. Sometimes my friends will be telling me stories of things going on in their lives and I can feel it because of the emotions coming out of them. Sometimes I will be inspired to write something about them. I guess you could say it's a collaboration of everything that surrounds me.

Mike: Do you see yourself as a role model and with that, do you see yourself handling things knowing that you are looked up to?

Jackie: Being a role model is a very important thing! I was very shy when I was younger and I was always worried about everyone's opinions. I would always hold my head down in school so I wouldn't get called names or different things. It's just one of those things where the girls were not very nice, so I wore sweatpants to school. One day in the tenth grade, I just didn't care anymore about their opinions or what others were going to say. I figured that I had to start living for me and I started to dress to make myself feel good and it wasn't about them. I try to put it out there for girls and guys and whoever to just be empowered to be themselves and be who they where born to be. Basically create thier own destiny. My big thing is #FUCKHATERS, bad words or not, it's 2015. I don't feel words or bad or good, you just use them in a positive or negative manner. With me, I use the F word in a positive manner to try to empower people to not worry about anyone else.
