would be able to get the sound we were thinking of. He is one of those people that you speak with and you feel you have known for years. He was very easy to work with and knew axactly what we wanted. He was able to turn our album into the masterpice I have always dreamt of.
DDR: Being a female vocalist, did you take into consideration that you would also be accepting the role as a female role model?
AW: I have thought about that a lot. Especially with my vocal teaching, I can pick up my vocal style in them. It's an unbelievable experience and it's hard to put it into words. I see myself opening up a pathway for them. Letting them know that dreams do come true, you just have to work hard for it. Being in this role model position, I want people to be able see that I'm a hard worker and know that as long as you have the drive and the passion, you really can do anything in this world. I am big on not using cuss words when performing and I would like to portray to others, including kids that come to our shows, that you can achieve your dreams and aspirations, but you can do it in a elegant manner.
DDR: Tell me a bit about "Voices From Above". What was the direction you wanted to go with the song, what where your inspirations?
AW: Actually, believe it or not, I thought the song was originally to be accoustic with me on the piano and singing. When I gave it to my father, he came back with this driving guitar sound. What he did actually changed it to what it is today. I am a very big christian and "Voices From Above" is like angels talking to me. It talks about the light, which is the light from heaven. It talks about not losing your faith in any aspect, whether its a musical career or your personal life. Always have that drive, never trun back. This song is basically about talking to angels, it's a song thats close to my heart. Everyone has that moment when they fall, and this song is basically saying dont give up!
DDR: We like to give the artist their chance to speak to thier fans both old and new. What would you like to say to them as well as what they have to look forward to in the futrure?
AW: What I have said many times, and I truly believe it, without fans you are nothing! It is because of them that musicians are able to follow thier dreams. Without them, we would not be able to do what we do. Fans create our future! We have several tours planned and we will have new music. We are currently trying to get another music video done this year as well. Like I said, even though we may not be playing shows constantly, we are always working. We may do another single release after the album has some time to be heard.
