DDR: Can you explain to me the name XFactor1 and how it came about?

QBall: Well, we tossed that one around a while. Me and the other guys that formed the band came up with it to mean an X Factor and invariable, intangible, unpredictable thing that can happen. We wanted to be the number one unpredictable and intangible thing in any circumstance. That's how the name came about and unfortunately the XFACTOR show came out after that. Because that show was wildly popular on T.V., it kind of tainted our name. I tell people we were the XFactor before the show ever came to be.

DDR: How did the band get together?

QBall: This incarnation of the band has been around for two years. What is interesting about this band now is we were the same band that wrote, recorded and toured the same album. It’s been incredible to keep the same guys through the process and you can hear that cohesiveness on the CD.

DDR: How long did it take you all to get this album completed from start to finish?

QBall: Well, we toured and saved some money for all the things we thought we would need for the album, but start to finish , it probably took us about six months to complete the album. We probably spent about 6 weeks in the studio.

DDR: It’ been said that your show is a no holds barred madness, that being said, what would a fan coming to your show expect?

QBall: Well one of the things we like to say is you can’t fake passion. You can put a mask on, paint your face, wear girls pants, tease you hair, you can have the best light show in the world , but you can’t fake passion. People see right through that shit every time. If you are looking for a band that has passion and will give you the highest quality show that you can see and will give you the biggest bang for your buck, who is also humble on stage then that's us. I always like to announce to the crowd that everyone is a V.I.P., not the guys on stage that should be put on pedestals, but the fans that spend their money to allow me and my bandmates to pursue our dreams. That's one thing that a lot of bands have wrong. We say we are trying to lead a rock revolution, we are going to kick the status quo right in the balls. Anything less than that would be a failure for us. You know I read an interview with Joe DiMaggio one time, and Joe was in his final year and was going to retire. On a play, he turned a double into a triple but had mashed his leg up pretty good. They were talking to him after the game and they where like "Hey Joe, you are a hall of famer , why would you take the risk of turning a double into a triple?” Joe replied. "Because somewhere in those stands there is a kid that has never seen me play before, and that's how I want to be remembered!" So with us, we don't care if its five fans or five thousand, you are going to get the same show, because that's how we want to be remembered.

DDR: One of your songs, "Bring It On", has been widely successful. It has been used for a multitude of things from programs to commercials. What was the inspiration to that song and when making it, did you have the feeling that you had something special?

INTENSITY. PASSION. DESIRE. These are words that best describe what XF1 is all about. XF1's message is SELF:EMPOWERMENT. YOU have the power to change your LIFE. Their live shows are legendary for no holds barred madness with a war cry of "same show, 5 or 5,000"! Truly inspiring music from an inspiring hard rock band!
