wasn't like like we were just meeting him. It made things easy. It was a really good time!

Mike: Who came up with the idea for the video?

Danny: Well the director came up with the video, we came up with the song and made sure Ice T was part of it. The idea behind the video was cooked up by the director.

Mike: You released your EP "Genocide" in 2005 and then in 2010 was about the time you signed with Sumerian Records. Before your EP released, how long where you guys operating as a band?

Danny: It was in 2005 that we formed up and released our first EP.Mike: So how did the band form up?

Danny: I used to play guitar in another band, and I wanted to learn how to sing. I talked to some guys in other bands and we were all interested in doing a certain type of music that was different than what we were all doing at the time, so we started jamming and making music. Folks started to come and watch us and we decided to keep going and not stop and here we are.

Mike : We also speak with a lot of unsigned bands and we like to relay information back to independent artists. Being as successful as you guys have been, what would you say your secret of success is?

Danny: You know, I think it's just a really tough road no matter how big or small until you become huge. I am sure it becomes easier, but it probably gets harder in other aspects of the business the larger you get. I believe the ones that make it through are the ones that continue to push. Your probably going to be broke for a while during the time that you are trying to come up since there is not a lot of money in bands that are not signed. Even when you land a deal, there still isn't a lot of money because you have to reinvent eveything and showcase your band pretty much like it's new to the industry. Being able to keep the drive to get through those types of situations is the advice I would give to others. Some may feel that once you land a deal, it's right to rockstar mode and now you are set and riding in busses. Shit is not even close to that. You need to know that in ways it almost gets harder once you land a deal, and if you keep that in mind they would be ready for that type of ride.

Mike: Danny, where do you find the inspiration for your music and lyrics?

Danny: I mostly pull it from real life situations and things that we all have gone through. Things that people have gone through so they can relate, and I try to put that out there the best I can.

Mike: Was there a defining moment for you when you decided that being a professional musician was you carreer of choice?

Danny: I always say I don't think I chose music, it chose me. Ever since I could remember, my parents said to me as a kid I would grab a broom stick and jump on the couch and just rock out you know. They didn't know where that came from, so at an early age I guess I had it in me that I wanted to do that. Maybe it stuck with me from wherever I saw it when I was a kid, but I don't remember what that would have been. I joined my first band without really even knowing how to play an instrument. I always wanted to write music and be part of something like that, I always wanted to do it for whatever reason.

Mike: I know you have just released your latest album, but I am sure fans are going to want to know if you all have any plans to get back into the studio?

Danny: Still pushing the current release, but we are open to the idea of doing another record sooner than we have released the first three. If we could, that would be great. If not, we believe the record is still doing really great and we will see how it goes. Hopefully the current release keep moving and selling well!

Mike: Is there anything you would like to say to your fans?

Danny: I have always felt that social media is a good thing, and I have always encouraged people to follow Upon a Burning Body on all of our sites. With those sites it will showcase a bit of the character that you dont normally see at a show. I feel the fans should check out the sites like Instagram, Twiter etc, because there are things on these sites you would not normally see. And if they search hard enough they will find our personal ones, its not that hard. So I would encourage fans to check out all our sites and enjoy the stuff we have for them. Just continue to support us, share us with your friends, let them know what songs you like and bring them to the show!
