about the
band name
and meaning?
How did you all meet up to form the band?
DF2012: The name Downfall 2012 has echoed through the Houston area since 1997. It was a different line-up then. I (Danny) was 15 and, at the time, was very intrigued/ terrified by the concept of “The End of the World”. I obsessed and researched all the projected (and past) doomsdays I could find. There were dozens, however 2012 seemed to stick out. In every book, magazine, website, etc it was always described to be “The end of the world…as we know it”. It created hope for survival and a great change; the birth of a new time. Downfall 2012 generally

the same
lineup from
1997 to
early 2006
when the
other musi-
cians decided
to step
away… This
was devas-
tating for
me. It was a very tough time, and there were quite a few other major life challenges presenting themselves as well. But things improved, and the motivation to continue eventually returned to me. I teamed up with Boo Rogers, a bass player I was already a huge fan of, and then shortly after we met Casey Bowen, a session/jazz improve player form across town. Together we created the rebirth of Downfall 2012! We saw it fit to hang on to the name for that very reason… It was a personal apocalypse and a birth of a whole new era. Oh…and the world didn’t end either! haha
Since 1997 Downfall 2012 has been delivering a incredible live show. Think of a none stop arttilery barrage of sound coming at you, assaulting your senses and imeadiatley making you fan, and you are close to knwoing what Downfall 2012 is like live. The incredible sound of Downfall 2012 is also masterfully communicated in both their videos as well as CD's. The time is right to jump onboard this unstopable machine , with thier eyes set to the future, the one thing set for Downfall are the barriers before them.
