His oldest daughter enjoys reading novels on a tablet. “At first I was against the technology, but technology along with education really works great,” he said. His youngest daughter spent time with Foxx on movie sets from an early age, so she is a strong reader and speaker because of her engagement outside the home. The biggest treat of the morning was an animated reading of “The Little Engine That Could” by Foxx. Young students from Austin Elementary enjoyed the storytime session, and it was clear that Foxx did, too. We’re grateful that Foxx took the time to travel to Mesquite and most importantly that he showed his support for an initiative so close to our hearts—ReadPlayTalk. Page 13
