Get Your Drink On

Golden Jasmine Martini – Made with jasmine green tea, honey and vodka. It tastes like a spiked iced tea that is golden in color with a strong note of jasmine...simple but delicious. Garnish with a jasmine flower.

Lillet Rose – Lillet is a fortified-wine blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Muscatel, and has the aroma of flowers and ripe berries. It is then mixed with ruby red grapefruit juice and gin, producing a beautiful pink hue, then garnished with an edible flower; a pansy was used here as an example.

Lilac Soda - A rum drink made with lilac simple syrup, Crème de Violette, lime and a little soda water. Lilacs have a slightly bitter taste with a hint of lemon, while violets are known for being sweet. Serve in a high-ball glass with straw and edible violet. The Crème de Violette is a liqueur made from violets and is deep purple in color.

Lavender Lemonade - The perfect spring or summer non-alcoholic drink to offer guests who do not wish to imbibe could be used as a stand-alone drink even if not serving any of the alcoholic varieties. It is made by combining lavender simple syrup with lemonade. Garnish with a slice of lemon and/or a sprig of lavender.

Blooming Salad

Either would make a wonderful addition to a salad.

The Sweet Stuff

Now, here’s where it gets exciting. There are so many wonderful ideas, and all were so romantic and whimsical...vintage even. The possibilities are endless. Are you using roses for your decorative arrangements and bouquets? Then use candied rose petals on your cake or cupcakes. Give out white chocolate cake pops dusted with dried rose petals or rose-flavored cookies like Macaroons. Try Rose Petal Shortbread Cookies (see below). Roses are so romantic on their own but when you add them to your desserts...even sweeter!

Another option is to incorporate flowers into parting gifts for your wedding invitees. Rose Petal Cookies could be individually wrapped and handed out. You can make your own edible flower lollipops by using pansies or violas, again, choosing which colors would best match your overall theme.
