ecause your makeup artist should know better but may not, because your photographer wants to give you magazine-worthy images, because your fiancé is not matched for your shade of rouge, because “you may now kiss the bride” does not translate to “time for smooch smearing,” and because you should know how to share your love, not your lipstick...here is your guide to the perfect wedding day pout. Let it light your way down the aisle.

DIY brides, listen up! Your simple

solution for this sticky situation can be found right down the road at you local drugstore. With ten years in the beauty industry working with a span of luxury beauty brands, my absolute go-to is Maybelline® Super Stay 24™ 2-Step Lipcolor.

Can’t find the right shade? Let me let you in on one of my most valuable techniques - mixing. That’s right, just like you mix paints on palette, you can

mix the colors to find your perfect shade (but not on your hand, unless you want a rosy temporary tattoo).

Speaking of painting, the ultimate

success of your pout will be determined

by how steady your hand is. For a precise finish, apply with a lip brush and steer clear of the applicators that come with the product. Once it dries, it won’t budge. I mean that sincerely. Water and soap will fight it like elves against Spartans. You will wake up tomorrow still sporting it unless you used an oil-based makeup remover. Finish off with a tiny amount of clear gloss. The gloss may transfer to your partners lips but it definitely won’t ruin photos after your big smooch!

If you feel uncertain about pulling this off, you can always hire a pro. Just ask questions and make sure that the lip service lines up with your expectations. Muah!
