Jumbled often holds workshops. What led you to introduce workshops to Jumbled customers?
I want Jumbled to not only be a store, but an experience. We don't make much money from our workshops, but it is just a great thing to do for myself and our customers. I pick workshops that I actually want to do myself - .interior design, flowers, weaving. .We also have a social media workshop for small businesses and creatives in the pipeline. It's just fun to have lots of balls in the air, that way I can totally satisfy all of my creative juices.
You must meet some amazing people and create some incredible memories. Can you tell us a bit about your favourite workshop experience/s?
My fave workshop would have to be the Celebration Tablescapes Workshop with the florist Mikarla Bauer. She is a total genius. I loved the way she used everyday items to create the most wonderful table decorations. Her ideas blew my mind and I have never seen happier people walking out of my store!
If you could meet anY person from the past or present, who would it be and what would you ask them?
I think it would have to be a dinner party of past and present. All of my faves....
Frida Kahlo, Brett Whiteley, Ken Done and Miranda Skoczek. I would cook them my Ultimate Chicken Pie and what would I ask them??????...to give me a mini art lesson and maybe an artwork at the end of the evening!
Where do you find your creative inspiration?
I mostly get inspired directly by what designers and artist are creating! I love reading blogs, Instagram, Pinterest and magazines...there are so many clever people out there! But probably colour, fashion, flowers and art are what really get me excited.
We love love love Jumbled. Can you give us a sneaky insight into what's in store for Jumbled in the future?
My husband and I just LITERALLY just bought an Old Masonic Hall right in the heart of Orange. Its going to be a one-stop-shop of fashion, food and home! It is the most amazing space. I am going to combine Jumbled with my clothing store, iglou... plus some other exciting little projects that I have in the pipeline. I will now have the space for events, art exhibitions and more workshops! EEEKKKKKK! There is a lot of work ahead for us, but 2016 is going to be a winner!
