While you should store
strawberries in the fridge (preferably
on some kitchen paper on a plate),
they are best eaten at room
temperature, so take them out of the
fridge 30 minutes before eating.

To wash strawberries,
rinse them lightly
in water and pat dry
with kitchen paper.
Don’t be tempted by
the big berries – small
to medium strawberries
have the best flavour.
To bring out their
flavour, squeeze over
some lemon juice,
sprinkle with a little
sugar and leave to
macerate.
