Although it’s made its name
primarily as a coffee stop,
courtesy of fresh roast from the
nearby The Coffee Factory, Aroma
does a mean afternoon tea. A
Taste of the West Gold Award and
the opening of a second outlet in
Bridport in January 2016 indicates
that they’ve found the right
balance. The secret? According to
owner John, “Being a cafe based
in Dorset we like to do things
traditionally, but sometimes with a
bit of a twist.... therefore one half
of the scone should be adorned
with cream and jam.....whilst the
other with jam and cream. Or you
could throw the rules out and get
dunkin – it’s messy but makes you
liberated!” Alongside homemade
fruit scones you can also find
gluten-free and vegan cakes, or
salted caramel, lemon & ginger or
something else just as delightful.
