NEWS The Best Possible Taste W e’ve said it more than once – Dorset is delicious. Here’s more incontravertible evidence from this year’s Great Taste Awards, which were a star-studded affair for produce from the region. These much coveted, blind-tasted food awards are a reliable mark of quality when you see the little black and gold badge on items at your local farm shop. Out of 10,000 products submitted, 3539 received a Great Taste Award, as judged by over 500 blind-tasters. The panel of judges this year included – TV chef and author, Valentine Warner, MasterChef judge and restaurant critic, Charles Campion, fifth generation baker, Tom Herbert from Hobbs House Bakery, James Golding, chef director of The Pig Hotels, Kevin Gratton, chef director of Hix Restaurants, and food buyers from such prestigious purveyors of fine produce as Harrods, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Waitrose. Details of all this year’s winners can be found at www.greattasteawards.co.uk. Below are all those winners from Dorset in full.
