INSPIRING A NEW GENERATION OF EDUCATORS

Thank YOU for inspiring 350 educators from 40 schools at the Chabad Chinuch Convention
Educators from around the world gathered in Crown Heights , New York , in the summer of 2016 at Menachem Education Foundation ’ s first ever Chabad Chinuch Convention . The Convention , which was established to inspire and recharge educators , was packed with in-depth seminars that explored best practices , workshops that developed practical skills , and intimate roundtable discussions on the entire gamut of issues relevant to Jewish education . The uplifting two-day event included the presentation of the prestigious Chinuch Awards , unique networking opportunities that celebrated educators and a grand Gala Banquet that honored them for the incredible impact they have on the lives of our children .
“ It was very humbling to be at an event that honored our educators in such a beautiful way . As a young child , I did not have an easy time learning , and school was very hard for me . Devoted teachers brought me to where I am today . Teachers have the most important job in the world . They are changing the the Jewish nation .”

“ As teachers , we work so hard and it is sometimes exhausting . This event made me feel lucky to be a teacher , just as I was getting ready for a new school year . I learned so many practical tips that I hope to take with me to the classroom , but even more than that , I feel empowered and uplifted to be a teacher . Throughout the Convention , the Rebbe ' s words were shared about the tremendous merit , honor , and privilege it is to teach , and all the blessings that come along with it . " - Ms . Esty Newfield , Teacher , Brooklyn , NY
“ When I attended the Chabad Chinuch Convention , I had already started making plans to leave my position as a principal and find a Rabbinical position or get involved in community work . After seven years at the helm of a Jewish day school , I was too caught up in what I was doing to remember why I was working in Jewish education . The Convention provided both the motivation and inspiration that we as educators need , as well as the skills , tools and resources to improve and enhance our work .
Throughout the event , the organizers conveyed the value and importance of working in Jewish education and presented it in such a dignified and professional way so as to raise the stature of the teachers and make them feel proud to be in this position . The networking opportunity also was significant and reminded us that we are not alone in this challenging work . The Convention inspired me so much that by the end of the first day of the Convention , I decided that I was going to stay and continue my work in Jewish education .”
