Where I Grew Up

Quisque vitae rutrum mi. Aliquam erat at neque accumsan tristique. Praesent id tempor nisl.

Snail houses, blue apartements with white trim, a small garden plot, the fence with hole just big enough for a little girl to wiggle through.

Prickly grass, bunk beds, only two monthes

The sweet smell and soft touch of roses on their bushes, the taste of tangy, fresh lemonade straight from the tree, the vegetable garden, small bedrooms, freezer full of mystyfying rock salt.

Brand new, lady bug invested, playing in the ditch, adventures in the woods, amphibians and reptiles.

Large and red, many trees, my own room and bathroom, trampoline and play structure.

Each of these description tell something about the homes that I have lived in sine I was a child. Each comes with distinct memories and each built me in a different way. The house that I have spent the greatest majority of my life in is the one that I currently live in, here in Spring, Texas. When we first moved to our house we thought it was hilarious that our street name was El James because it seemed like whoever named it slapped togeher a Spanish word with a supremely American name. Our street has become a place to ride bikes and take walks. Our house seemed magical to me at the age of 8 when we moved in. The living room is large with a spotlight, just what any 8 year old who was obsessed with High School Musical could want. My room is an odditiy in the way that it looks, but with three brothers and no sisters, it is a sactuary. My family refers to my room as "The Princess Room" not because it is girly and frilly but because it has the best air conditioning in the house. My room includes a mural of the beach combined with the antique wooden furniture with roses on it that my grandfather gave me. It is quite the mix but everything about my room has special meaning to me, even if it is not visually appealing. Our house is old and falling apart due to its age but it is home and there have been many special family memories here including holidays and game nights. It blows my mind the amount of time we have been in our house because I had lived in 3 different states by the time I was in 4th grade so the idea of permanance always seemed distant, like it was destined to end. I have been lucky to experience California, South Carolina, and Texas. Each place and house I have lived in has given me a new adventure. The memories I have from childhood will be with me forever. Whether it be my mom accidently starting a fire in our oven or my Hawaiian 7th birthday party, I have so many unique experiences to cherish.
