Specially commissioned by ACMI and MMW, Melbourne’s favourite experimental audio-visual mash-up kings, Naysayer & Gilsun (Luke Neher and Sam Gil) are reinventing their iconic NGTV set-up for an all exclusive, all new hour-long performance. Bonding over a shared love of ?lm and music in their high-school years, Naysayer & Gilsun began producing and DJing together at the age of sixteen. Several years later, their attention shifted from sweaty house parties and clubs to original music production and their live audiovisual show, NGTV. NGTV is the purest expression of the duo’s creative aesthetic, meshing music from across the electronic spectrum with lucid cinematic selection, creating a sensory melting pot and taking audiences on an emotive music and visual journey. Renowned for drawing dreamy, mind expanding, and sometimes uncomfortable links between ?lm and music, Naysayer & Gilsun will dominate ACMI with this wholly unique live ?lm and music experience. With a full hour of totally original and mostly unreleased music, the boys have selected three ?lms to recut, remix and rescore. Controlling computers, mixers and audio effects, Naysayer & Gilsun will live splice, dice and slice to produce a staggering ?lm and sound narrative, projected in high de?nition onto ACMI’s big screen. Likened to a rave in a cinema, this special performance will be a mind blowing and totally immersive experience.
