CLUB KIDS Co-presented with Two Bright Lakes & No Lights No Lycra Supported by ArtPlay & PBS OSCAR KEYSUNG NO LIGHTS NO LYCRA TWO BRIGHT LAKES DJS SATURDAY 23 NOVEMBER 1 PM – 4 PM THE RESIDENCE In this special family day time event, Club Kids brings the 90s New York party scene right into the heart of MMW, spangling their way into The Residence for an afternoon of ?uoro lights, dance ?oor revelry, space poppin’ music, and general good-times for all. It’s bright. It’s bouncy. It’s Macaulay Culkin in drag, minus the hangover. Headlining the afternoon’s musical offerings, Oscar Keysung is an artist whose stocks have been on the rise this year. Following his success as one-half of indie dream duo Oscar + Martin, Keysung’s refreshingly spacious and buoyant solo performances, backed up with sumptuous vocals, have received international acclaim. Described as a throwback to the days of classic, RnB heart-on-sleeve frontmen, the artist has recently broken some serious international ground, thanks to high pro?le support slots for St. Vincent, Four Tet, Metronomy, and Gotye, along with his recent work alongside Ghostpoet, and MeLo-X. With the help of Melbourne’s favourite dark-dance-divas No Lights No Lycra, a hoard of DJs from the Two Bright Lakes stable, and with ArtPlay presenting fun activities for the little ones, this daytime rave will get the whole family on the ?oor. ADULTS $15 KIDS $10 FAMILIES (2 ADULT + 2 KIDS) $25 Transaction and booking fees may apply MOSHTIX.COM.AU/MMW ESPIONAGE FEAT. Co-presented with The Operatives NOSAJ THING (USA) JONWAYNE (USA) JPS SILENT JAY AMIN PAYNE SATURDAY 23 NOVEMBER 8 PM – 1 AM THE RESIDENCE Officially closing MMW for the past two years with Gaslamp Killer at KUBIK in 2011, and Floating Points and Alexander Nut at Where?House in 2012, The Operatives mean business. That’s why they’re back again this year, wrapping up the ?nal Saturday night in serious style. Two of LA’s most forward-thinking producers – Nosaj Thing and Jonwayne – will be laying it down against an incredible visual backdrop, live-painted by Japanese graffiti artist Jun Inoue. With electronic soundscapes and soaring beat tectonics, Nosaj Thing’s dark and different music always hits home - be it on the dance ?oor, or as an eyes-shutmouth-open experience. Having remixed for The XX and produced for Kendrick Lamar, Nosaj Thing’s latest album Home (2013) earned him the label as one of the greatest innovators of electronic music’s next generation. An integral member of the LA beat scene’s second generation, Jonwayne’s sound bounces between brilliant production and irresistibly clever verse. Rising from the local underground music community as a spoken word artist and rapper, Jonwayne was discovered when a tape of his raw, sticky, blunted beats found their way into Daddy Kev’s hands – resulting in his debut album Bowser (2011). With support from local Operatives heroes Amin Payne, Silent Jay and JPS, this is one party you won’t forget in a hurry.
