“The Difference, Delivered.” That theme, developed
by Media Matrix and chosen by pharmaceutical
contract specialist Patheon for their recent Global
Sales Meeting in Atlanta, was both an opportunity
and a challenge for Media Matrix as they considered
Patheon needs for a memorable event. The theme
was an opportunity because it lends itself to many
different interpretations and approaches and
directly ties into Patheon’s tag line: “A healthier
world. Delivered.” But it was also a challenge
because it would give both Patheon and their
attendees the expectation of something truly, well,
different. The record shows that Media Matrix
came through with flying colors in meeting and
exceeding these expectations.
Media Matrix began delivering a difference of their
own before the meeting even started. They created
a unique stage setup that put the presenters in the
center of the 250-person audience, using a
runway-style platform extending into the midst of
the attendees and allowing them to view the
presentations from almost a 360-degree spectrum
of angles. This setup, plus the fact that the stage
contained no podium, furniture or props, made the
audience feel more involved in the event, with the
on-stage presenters delivering messages directly to
