Fiftieth anniversaries are always special—but when
the anniversary commemorates the founding of
the world’s leading testing organization, Educational Testing Service, the occasion calls for
something truly out of the ordinary. That’s why
ETS turned to Media Matrix to produce their
50th Convocation, held at the College of
New Jersey, to celebrate the first half-century of
the ETS organization. As with many other ETS
projects in recent years, the abilities of Media
Matrix played a key role in creating a unique and
memorable event, a celebration that was a full year
in the planning.
The event was impressive from a logistical
standpoint alone, as Media Matrix teamed up with
ETS planners to provide “front-row viewing” for all
of the Convocation’s 1,500 attendees. Remote
videos, rear-screen projection, intelligent lighting,
and carefully laid-out staging for the band, choir
and presenters, all contributed to a memorable
