SpaceIL Launches Israeli Space Program

by Messenger Staff

SpaceIL, an Israeli nonprofit working to land the first Israeli spacecraft on the Moon, presented to the Manhattan Day School 6,7, and 8 graders on May 27. They shared their amazing story of building a national movement around science and innovation - to accomplish something amazing for Israel while inspiring the next generation to pursue their dreams much like the Apollo program did for the US in the 1970s.

SpaceIL will be co-headlining the Celebrate Israel Parade on June 1, so come join us in celebrating the first Israeli spacecraft to land on the moon. They have also recently launched an international campaign to build support around the world for their mission. Learn more and join them on their journey here: http://bit.ly/SpaceIL.

8B/8G Visit the Museum of Jewish Heritage

by Judy Melzer, [email protected]

The trip to the Museum of Jewish Heritage was a culminating experience for the boys and girls in Mrs. Meltzer’s Senior Seminar. The displays took the students from pre-war Europe through the Holocaust into the Establishment of Eretz Yisrael. Thank you Mr. Radensky, education director of the museum, for helping facilitate this experience.
