1.2.4-Energy Transmission Distance
Obviously an electrical control system can transmit the energy, between the power generator and the power consumer, to a
distance that is much longer than a hydraulic system can. As shown in Fig. 1.21, electrical systems use wire cables instead of
pipes, tubes, and hoses that are used in hydraulic systems.

1.2.5-Readiness of Operation
Because the electrical power can commonly be introduced on spot, installing and commissioning an electrically driven
machine is much easier than a hydraulically driven machine. As shown in Fig. 1.22, quick connect cables install in a small
fraction of the time it takes to plumb a hydraulic system. A hydraulic system requires a lot of preparation, e.g. a reservoir,
plumbing, cooling water, filter, etc.
