To cater to the Indian as well as other Asian markets’ demand
CERATIZIT India announced its expansion with the setting up
of a coating plant unit for inserts. A major player in the Indian
cutting tool market, CERATIZIT India’s capacity for producing
coated inserts will increase by about 40 per cent with the
setting up of the new coating plant unit. Sam Schreiner,
Ambassador of Luxembourg to India was present during the
inauguration ceremony of the new plant near Kolkata.

The state-of-the-art Apparatus
CERATIZIT India’s new coating plant will be one of the best
in the class plants in surface engineering. The environment
friendly plant also supports zero discharge system. The
new coating device is a highly developed Chemical Vapour
Deposition (CVD) coating plant and the multilayer coating
technique will improve tool life and will also boost the
performance to a great extent.
The significantly improved surface finish has a positive
influence on both - the chip flow as well as the wear resistance
and can be effortlessly achieved with this new coating. In
addition to the improved surface finish, the special multi-
layer structure also provides enhanced toughness to the
cutting edge.
