FAIRMONT MAYAKOBA
SEGUNDO ACTO
ACT II
LA LAGUNA DE FAIRMONT: THE INNER LANDSCAPE
Surrounded by pools of water on an islet of sorts, La Laguna de Fairmont restaurant was built to
blend harmoniously with the landscape, an effect achieved through the use of materials such as
wood and limestone. Interior and exterior spaces flow naturally, suggesting casual elegance while
at the same time providing a sense of comfort in settings ideal for socializing. The key concept is
to bring the outside in by means of large windows that wrap around 60 percent of the restaurant,
along with extremely high ceilings to enhance the spaciousness. The interior design was redone in
2015 to highlight contemporary Mexican inspiration, with handicrafts from different parts of the
country and a palette ranging from white to yellow to green.
