El lobby del hotel Andaz Mayakoba es
conocido como El Santuario, ya que está
inspirado en los cenotes, espacios que
para los mayas eran sagrados, pues con-
ducían al más allá y eran hogar de sus dio-
ses. Para rendir homenaje a esta creencia,
Andaz Mayakoba ofrece a sus huéspedes
un talismán maya y los alienta a pedir un
deseo que les ayude a superarse. El anhelo
se encapsula en el talismán y se envía a los
dioses mayas arrojándolo a la fuente. La
ceremonia busca así recibir a los visitantes
con energía positiva.
MAKE A WISH
The lobby of the Andaz Mayakoba is known
as “The Sanctuary” because it is inspired in
the underground rivers and cenotes found
throughout the region. These sinkholes were
sacred to the Maya, who believed they were
the gateway to the underworld and the home
of their gods. Out of respect for this belief,
the Andaz Mayakoba welcomes its guests
with a Maya good luck charm and urges them
to make a wish having to do with personal
improvement. They are then asked to throw
the talisman in the fountain so it can reach the
Maya gods. The ceremony is the Andaz way
of greeting guests, with positive energy.
